RFK Racing driver and co-owner Brad Keselowski has had his moment on Hollywood’s big screen. He had a cameo appearance in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! in 2015, and then he took on the role of a security guard in the movie Logan Lucky, which was released in 2017. None of these roles allowed the veteran driver to showcase his true potential as an actor because of the short stints, but thanks to NASCAR, he’s finally getting the screen time he deserves.

In an unexpected video, Keselowski linked up with his rival, Kyle Busch, to announce that NASCAR’s championship weekend is returning to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2025. It was a humorous yet informative video that was based on the theme of the Back to the Future movie. Although Rowdy nailed his role, insider MJ Duffy thinks that Keselowski took the cake, and she believes that had he not been a NASCAR driver, he could’ve made it as an actor.

“I think that we’re learning that he missed his calling,” she shared this take on the lapsdownpod. Not sure if Keselowski has been keeping tabs on how well the commercial has been received by the NASCAR fans, but he rewarded himself with a a miniature Academy Award trophy and shared a hilarious post on X. “Finally, my acting is being recognized and I got my very own academy award for this performance 😂. Thank you to everyone who got me here.”

NASCAR confirmed the move in an official release, stating that “Homestead-Miami is due for improvements before its return to the championship rotation.” Financial constraints had previously hindered efforts to bring the finale back to the South Florida venue. In the revamped postseason schedule, Phoenix will now take a key role in the ‘Round of 8,’ though it remains in the running for future championship events. Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s executive vice president and chief venue and racing innovation officer, commented on the shift: “We’ve seen some great racing there, and we’ve crowned some of our biggest champions, but we’re excited to go to Homestead-Miami Speedway. I can tell you from a few people that I’ve talked to so far across the industry, through our partners, they’re over the moon about it.”

Well, Keselowski and Busch have a bit of history which can be traced back to 2010, when the RFK Racing driver called him an a–. Since then, the two drivers have not seen eye to eye. Therefore, watching them combine to promote NASCAR’s return to Homestead was indeed a huge surprise for the fans. “I mean, I would say that we don’t necessarily have a relationship. I probably don’t have a relationship with half of these guys here. So just show up and do our deal.” This is how Kyle Busch saw this collaboration, working with Keselowski.

Brad Keselowski’s 2025 season has been a tough watch

The Next Gen era, in particular, has been tough on the veteran driver. But if we are to compare his numbers from the first 12 races last year, it goes to show how dire the situation is within the #6 camp. In 2024, at this point in the season, Keselowski had already bagged four top 5s, and out of those, two were runner-up finishes. But this year, he has failed to register a single top 10 run, and that is worrying.

Speed isn’t the only foe that the #6 team are dealing with. Brad Keselowski has been awfully unlucky as he ended his last three races with DNFs. In Kansas, he was among the race contenders and just as he was gaining on the leader, Chase Elliott, his right side tire gave up, and it resulted in a crash. “It was going to be a great day. Felt like we had a shot to win with our Ford Mustang. Pretty car, but it’s not pretty anymore. I didn’t really have much of a warning. Just went into Turn 1 and I heard a big ‘boom,’ and around it went. It’s unfortunate. We were playing to win and we were right in a spot to do just that and it didn’t come together.” He said after the disappointing end to his race.

As things stand, Keselowski is placed 33rd in the points standings and will need a race win or bucket load of points to qualify for the playoffs. With only 14 races remaining in the regular season, the #6 team will need to be on their toes and help Keselowski turn a corner for good.
