As it turns out, the section with Turns 5, 6, and 7 was altered, to the point where Turn 7 is a lot tighter. Looking at it, it is almost like a hairpin, which promises a lot of dive-bombing action. The spin was very costly and it dropped him all the way down in the rankings. Frankly, it was not a good look for the driver who won the last road course race at Watkins Glen. The driver who caused his misfortune was the Spire Motorsports driver, Carson Hocevar, and the #17 driver was not at all pleased with Hocevar’s antics.
