Justice was served. That’s what everyone felt after NASCAR penalized and fined Noah Gragson for the intentional wreck he caused at Road America. However, one of the victims of the said wreck, Brandon Brown, wasn’t of the same opinion.

In fact, Brown feels NASCAR was way, way off with the amount they penalized Gragson for, and the damage he caused. That JR Motorsports should’ve at least reached out to him and his team to compensate for the damage their driver caused.

“We don’t have the resources they have so you would think that maybe that kind of team would reach out like, ‘Hey guys. Maybe we could spare you a little something…to help you out,'” Brown said.

“I’ve seen it on Twitter where they fined him 30 grand or $35,000 and I was like, ‘Oh, that doesn’t really match up to the $80,000 racecar that I’ve lost plus the 31, plus the 48, plus the…’ we can go down the line with people,” he continued. “It’s just, it doesn’t really do anything and I don’t think this is gonna be something that’s gonna change Noah or how he drives or what his attitude is on the track.”

“It’s gonna take something way bigger to help that kid learn to mature a lot faster.”

Brandon Brown feels everyone has “sugarcoated” what Noah Gragson did

Brandon Brown described that if he zooms out and looks at the whole thing from a macro-level, the penalty, how NASCAR dealt with the JR Motorsports driver, it wasn’t enough.

“Everybody’s pretty much sugarcoated what he’s done. He’s getting a little bit of a slap on the wrist for it,” Brown added.

The #68 driver expressed his disapproval of the way things were handled by NASCAR and JR Motorsports.

“It comes down to NASCAR’s leadership and Junior Motorsports’ leadership,” Brown said. “It’s upto Noah’s team leadership to help him mature because obviously, he is not maturing as fast as need be.”

He added that if they accept the kind of driving that was on display at Road America from Gragson, and if they’re upset about it, then they needed to do something more.
