Carson Hocevar was never going to take part fully in the Truck Series race at Sonoma Raceway. The rising NASCAR sensation suffered an injury that led to a surgery after his wreck at Gateway.

This meant that Hocevar was only fit to run practice, even though he did secure the pole, and he did run some of the initial laps during the race.

But at lap 11, Daniel Suarez, the Cup Series driver for the Trackhouse Racing team, stepped inside Hocevar’s seat as they swapped.

However, the Niece Motorsports driver wasn’t content with just sitting out and looking at the race. He wanted to race, something that was solidified by his tweet late in the event when a red flag was brought out.

“Would it be illegal if we swap back under red? think I got 4 laps in me🤣🤣,” he tweeted.

Amidst this, many fans are wondering about Hocevar’s injury.
