When AJ Allmendinger announced this year that he would not be coming back for a full-time ride in 2024, the fans wondered who would replace ‘The Dinger’ in his #16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Moreover, as Kaulig Racing announced earlier, the team was moving Daniel Hemric, the full-time driver of the #11 Chevrolet, to the #10 Chevrolet for the three-round, seven-race postseason. Carson Hocevar replaces Ty Dillon at Spire Motorsports
After having driven ousted Noah Gragson’s Legacy Motorclub car in 2023 and proving his prowess at it, 20-year-old Carson Hocevar is all set to skip a grade and get his promotion into the highest tier of NASCAR. And that is happening simultaneously as Ty Dillon is expected to vacate his #77 seat at Jeff Dickerson’s team.
I don't see Ty Dillon going in the RCR Xfinity No. 2 car. Never say never. He's still a candidate for a Kaulig car (Cup or Xfinity). https://t.co/6qWcNLEQbG

Dillon’s first full-time Cup Series season at Spire Motorsports hasn’t been a great one. Throughout a span of 36 races, he was not been able to score a single top-10 finish. However, Hocevar instills great hopes in the minds of the fans as well as team owner Jeff Dickerson. As reported by autoweek.com, Dickerson said, “Carson Hocevar is a proven winner and excels with every opportunity. He’s an undeniable talent and reminds me a lot of a young Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski”

While talking about Ty Dillon, Dickerson said, “We’re also very grateful to Ty Dillon for everything he’s done for our organization and the No. 77 team, in particular. Ty came to Spire Motorsports after the 2022 season and has put his best foot forward. He’s done everything we’ve asked of him. We know he’ll land with a top-flight race team and wish him the very best.”
