NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is not only just a talented race car driver, but he’s also a great friend, one who doesn’t shy away from a bit of banter. But regardless, a great friend always has the best interest of their friends. This is what fellow NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez must’ve learned on Thanksgiving.

Suarez had posted a picture with his girlfriend, Julia, on his Twitter account. But Wallace added a bit of friendly banter into the post of festivity. Wallace suggested Thanksgiving might just be the right occasion to ‘ask her a question.’

While Suarez or Piquet haven’t replied to this reply yet, it’s understandable why that’s the case. Wallace was clearly pulling Suarez’s leg by publically suggesting he pops the question, acting as his wingman. But as one comment from a Twitter user pointed out, Suarez must be plotting that out ‘very carefully’, considering who Julia’s father is.

Julia Piquet is the daughter of F1 legend Nelson Piquet.

The friendship between Bubba Wallace and Daniel Suarez

It’s not like the joking is only limited to off the track between Wallace and Suarez. Because they’ve engaged in some on-track banter as well, which at first glance, didn’t seem all that cool.

Occasionally, Suarez has been seen giving Wallace a finger while on track. Initially, people wondered whether there’s some bad blood between the two. But as it turns out, showing birdies is their way of joking about an actual fight they had a few years ago.

“We’re good friends, and a few years ago, we had a big fight because he gave me the finger, and then it kind of became a joke after that. And every time we see each other on the race track, we give the finger, for sure,” Suarez said.

The banter between the two drivers only goes to show us how similar high profile NASCAR drivers are to their fans and everybody else. They too pull the legs of their friends, albeit by sometimes making matters a little embarrassing.
