The 23XI Racing team piloted by Bubba Wallace will be one of the key attractions for racing fans heading into the 2021 Cup Series season. The NASCAR community will get a first look at the new driver-team combination, which has a buzz attached to it.

However, the ability to churn out results on track ultimately vests with the driver, and often there is a sense of pressure to that. Speaking in a press conference, Wallace talked about whether his ‘biggest pressure’ in 2021 was on the track or off it.

He said, “On the racetrack for sure. It’s just delivering results. This, for me, is the one and potentially last opportunity for me.”

Just have to ‘go out and execute’ and not get lazy, says Bubba Wallace

“We have a solid foundation underneath us to make this program better and to grow this team. Make this a household name in the sport. Male it a pinnacle name of our sport.”

With owners such as NBA legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin backing the team, expectations are bound to be high. But, Wallace’s priority is to capitalize and make every opportunity count.

Bubba continued, “I think the on-track stuff, you just have to go out and execute and not get lazy and not get sidetracked. Not get too frustrated and throw away some really good races.”

“And when we do have bad races, we try to grow and get better throughout and capitalize and just make every opportunity count. That’s the biggest thing,” concluded Wallace.

Supporters could see the first impressions of 23XI Racing’s car in the Busch Clash at the Daytona International Speedway. However, Ty Dillon will be in the vehicle instead of Wallace, who was not eligible to take part in the non-points event.

Nevertheless, both the car and its driver will make their official debuts in the upcoming Daytona 500. Wallace would aim to get off to the right start in the ‘Great American Race’ and in doing so, set the tone for the rest of the season as well.
