Bubba Wallace Invites NBA Star Damian Lillard to Attend the NASCAR Playoffs Race

Bubba Wallace has been making the headlines repeatedly over the course of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. He is one of the most talented free agents after the current season. He drives the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for Richard Petty Motorsports.

The team is keen on retaining him, so much so that he was offered an equity share in the team. The team has been part of some hilarious rumors lately. One of which is that NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan will invest in the team.

However, this rumor was quickly shot down by the Basketball legend’s spokesperson. Denny Hamlin has also been linked to the team. However, during an interview, he preferred not to announce anything on this matter.

Bubba Wallace is enthusiastic about giving some information about NASCAR to a Basketball player. Damian Lillard, the headliner for Portland Trail Blazers, doesn’t know a lot about NASCAR. Bubba Wallace wants Damian to attend the NASCAR race to get a better understanding of the sport.

Lillard on Friday was asked about his knowledge of NASCAR on Twitter. The Basketball player responded by referencing the abrogation of the confederate flag and how he knew “a few” drivers.

Future of Bubba Wallace

Bubba Wallace’s contract will be coming to an end after the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. The 26-year-old racer will be a free agent after this season. He is currently in the 22nd position in the 2020 Cup Series.

He is one of the most talented drivers on the paddock, the reason many teams want him to represent them for the 2021 season.

Although, he has no Cup Series or Xfinity Series wins. He had a decent 2020 season with 5 Top-10 finishes. His best finish in the 2020 season came at the regular season Finale at Coke Zero Sugar 400 in which he completed the race in 5th position.

He failed to qualify for the NASCAR playoffs. However, he will still take part in the remaining 10 races.
