Earlier this year, Twitter launched a campaign where people tweeted their dreams into existence. Two prominent names who participated were none other than NFL star Patrick Mahomes and 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace. Back in April 2014, Wallace tweeted that he wished to race in the Xfinity Series. It is also worth mentioning that his tweet was featured on a billboard in Los Angeles, California.

The Alabama-based driver was hoping to run in a few Xfinity Series races during that season. Prior to that, he had only had four Xfinity races under his belt. That was when he raced for Joe Gibbs Racing in the 2012 Xfinity Series season. Later on, he moved to Kyle Busch Motorsports for the 2013 and 2014 Truck seasons on a full-time basis.

Soon, Wallace got his wish, as he got a shot at a couple of Xfinity Series races for Joe Gibbs Racing during that season. Admittedly, he had a rough day in the office at Talladega but made up for it with 7th place at the Daytona International Speedway. Since then, Bubba Wallace has never looked back and has finally reached the zenith, the Cup Series.

How has Bubba Wallace fared in his NASCAR career?

A year later, after a reasonably successful campaign, Roush Fenway Racing came knocking in 2015 and 2016. He completed two full-time season and was in the midst of his 3rd in 2017, when the outfit folded. This also coincided with his Cup Series debut with Richard Petty Motorsports. The team recruited him to substitute in for an injured Aric Almirola.

As an injury substitute, Bubba Wallace competed in four races. Later on, when Almirola replaced Danica Patrick in 2018, RPM hired him as a full-time driver. Since then, he stuck around in the stable until the end of the 2020 season. For 2021, an offer from the Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan-owned 23XI Racing team became too lucrative and he signed on. As for Patrick Mahomes, his dream of winning the Super Bowl came true in the 2019-20 NFL season and got a chance to go to Disney World.

During his 23XI Racing tenure, Wallace has one Cup Series victory to his name, at the Talladega Superspeedway. Now, the driver is competing in his second season in the organization. This time, he has a teammate, in the form of veteran driver and 2004 champion, Kurt Busch.
