Bubba Wallace Reveals His “Driving Crazy” Experience Outside of NASCAR on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Often, we as racing fans wonder, ‘How do racecar drivers approach regular, everyday driving?’ Like sure, they’re racing their horsepower heavy beasts as fiercely as possible, but how about when they’re picking up some grocery in their Prius? Well, Bubba Wallace explained his side of things.

The 23XI Racing driver was recently a guest at Jimmie Kimmel’s late-night show. Wallace was promoting his recent Netflix docu-series, ‘Race: Bubba Wallace’ as one of the questions by the host quizzed him about him “driving crazy” outside the racetrack.

“My fiancee is in the back, might have to ask her,” Wallace answered. “I feel like I drive normal.”

Wallace, who has been racing since he was 9, and gained his driving license at 17, then went on to describe a hilarious incident from his past when he drove on the road for the first time.

“The craziest thing is when I did get my permit, or I guess, drove for the first time with my parents…I swerved off the road twice when a car came at me. Because I’m used to racing, driving with traffic,” he said.

“So that took me a while to get comfortable with.

Bubba Wallace was pissed after finishing second at the Daytona 500

Bubba Wallace, who finished second in the recent Daytona 500 to rookie Austin Cindric, revealed how frustrated he was with his second result of finishing second at the Great American Race.

The 23XI Racing driver had also finished second in his first Daytona 500 back in 2018. And it was the differences between both these results, which Wallace explained.

“I finished second in my first Daytona 500 in 2018. And you know, I was a wrecking ball of emotion, super cool, pumped, like we finished second – awesome,” he said.

But speaking about 2022 one, he said, “I was pissed, I was ready to rip somebody’s head off after this.”

Regardless, Bubba Wallace will look to shake off the frustration, as he would know there’s a whole season ahead of him.

Everything is still out in front of him to race for, to win, the first opportunity of which will be in Southern California this Sunday.
