Bubba Wallace Reveals the True Extent of His Gratefulness to Michael Jordan for 23XI Racing Opportunity

There are only a handful of names in the history of the sports, any sport, that are greater than the game itself. Such is their impact, their achievements, and consequentially, the weight of their name, that having their support could be a life-changing moment. One of those few athletes is Michael Jordan.

Jordan expressed his support for the driver, Bubba Wallace.

The NBA legend joined hands with another NASCAR driver, Denny Hamlin, and formed the 23XI Racing Team. Being the game-changer that he is, Jordan announced Bubba Wallace as the driver for the new team.

While this was monumental on its own, Wallace describes the support of Jordan as something he can never thank him enough for. Wallace said to People magazine, “M.J. stepping up in a way that he did for me has been — you know, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to thank him enough.”

“Just this opportunity this year and moving forward. He gave me an opportunity to shine and put my best foot forward.”

If anybody has seen “The Last Dance”, we know that Jordan is obsessed with preparation. This is something Wallace also confirmed as, according to him, Michael Jordan “watched [NASCAR] just about every weekend.”

Wallace added that there are a lot of people involved in this endeavor that he “could be here all day thanking them.” Yet one person who he wants to thank, someone whose association he doesn’t take lightly, is his boss, Michael Jordan.

“It’s cool having M.J. — one of the biggest names in the world, that I’m associated with. I definitely don’t take that for granted.”

In the coming season, 23XI Racing will field two cars. Kurt Busch will be driving the second car. Bubba Wallace can learn a lot from him as a teammate.

At the moment, it’s all happening for him thanks to Michael Jordan. But let’s see if Bubba Wallace can make it happen for his boss in the 2022 season.
