For the first time in around 58 years, in 2021, Bubba Wallace became the first black driver to clinch a victory in NASCAR’s premier division at the Talladega Superspeedway. But unlike the amped-up feeling during the closing laps of the race, a 23XI Racing insider was highly frustrated at the #23 Toyota driver’s moves.

Two years have passed since Wallace created history, and his spotter, Freddie Kraft, reminisced upon the historic first win, following which he expressed his annoyance at the racer’s move that could’ve cost him his victory. However, known for his outspoken attitude and no-filter exchanges, Wallace didn’t shy away from responding as he unveiled a hysterical threat.

Bubba Wallace issues an open threat to his spotter

Amid the off-season preparations and testing of the NextGen cars, Kraft went down memory lane and pondered upon his driver, Bubba Wallace’s first Cup Series win at the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 race.

Kraft’s time travel dug up memories from the final moments of the race where he remembered how Wallace, out of nowhere, decided to get behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr., probably to use drafting to gain momentum later.

However, that very moment ignited an urge in the 23XI Racing insider to punch Wallace and he didn’t shy away from expressing his feelings on X. “My vivid memory from the end of this race is wanting to punch Bubba when we were leading the top line and he just decided to get in line behind RSJ in the middle, and we watched the top line drive on by. 🤬 I guess it worked out alright 🙄,” Kraft wrote.

Within hours after Kraft unveiled his desire, Wallace wasted no time and savagely gave a hilarious reply. Standing next to a caveman’s showpiece that donned a spear in his hand, Wallace threatened and wrote, “You were saying??”

As the weather became unfit for racing, the race was red-flagged, and everyone was asked to take shelter as the track dryers did their jobs. However, the conditions worsened, owing to a lightning strike, which took place just 8 miles from the track. As the rains continued and darkness cast its shadow 0n the asphalt, the officials decided to call it a day, and Bubba Wallace, who was leading the race before the caution was raised, made history by clinching the P1 spot. The last person before Wallace to clinch a Cup race victory was Wendell Scott, who had achieved the iconic feat at Speedway Park in Jacksonville in 1963.
