When Kyle Busch gave validation to the growing uncertainty of his future at Joe Gibbs Racing, the NASCAR community began contemplating just where and in which team would the two-time Cup champion fit. Busch, after all, is quite a unique driver. He’s supremely talented, he’s supremely successful, and he has, well, his own way of handling things.

All of this could mean that there aren’t many teams that can realistically afford Kyle Busch. However, there is one team that just might, a team that goes by the name of Stewart-Haas Racing.

Recently, Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, made a case for SHR to sign Busch, especially after their failed pursuit of Kyle Larson.

“Ford’s gonna play a big role in this if try to court Kyle Busch to Stewart-Haas Racing. Obviously, Gene (Haas) can pay anybody any amount of money he wants, but Ford will also play a big part here,” Kraft said.

“There’s a rumor that Stewart-Haas, I don’t think it’s a secret that Stewart-Haas was after Kyle Larson when Kyle Larson was a free agent. And with everything that went on, the rumor is, Ford kinda didn’t wanna sign off on that,” he continued. “But if Ford would’ve stepped up in a bigger way, maybe they could’ve gotten Kyle Larson over there.”

“Maybe this is the turn about for that, that maybe we’ll step up.”

We should never be shocked with Kyle Busch, NASCAR veteran says

Kyle Busch’s comments about his future earned him a lot of attention, but they also earned him a lot of flak. But in a recent interview, AJ Allmendinger, the NASCAR veteran currently driving in the Xfinity Series, suggested that when it comes to Kyle Busch, one should never be shocked, especially with what he says.

“We shouldn’t ever be shocked by Kyle Busch’s comments. This is what I love about Kyle,” he said.

“He is not always the most pleasant,” Allmendinger continued. “If I call him and ask him a question about how to drive a racecar, he’ll give me detailed answers as long as I want him.”

Allmendinger claimed that Busch is who he is, that if he’s not happy or if there’s something on his mind, he’ll say exactly how he feels about it. Perhaps this was something he did when he was questioned about his future.

Regardless, let’s see what the future holds for Candy Man now that the candies are on their way out after 2022.
