Chase Elliott is in his fifth full-time season at racing’s highest level for Hendrick Motorsports. Effectively a second-age NASCAR champion, Elliott’s three triumphs in 2019 set him up to his fourth sequential playoff seat.

Furthermore, he was voted as the NASCAR Cup Series most famous driver for the second back to back season.

Chase Elliott is in the dream form in the 2020 season. At the moment, the 24-year-old driver is standing in the second position.

He is already qualified for the playoffs as he has won a race. He won the Alsco Uniforms 500, the second race at Charlotte. Chase Elliott led 28 laps out of the 208 laps.

The Georgia native who won the 2014 NASCAR Xfinity series has led 451 laps in 2020 in his 16 starts. The only track where Chase Elliott has not led a lap is the Kentucky Speedway.

What’s more, a win in the Cup Series race on this track has evaded him as well. His start average is 14 and his finish average at the track is 15.5 out of his 4 starts at Kentucky.

Chase Elliott and Kentucky Saga

The 2020 NASCAR season has been one unpredictable season. The qualifying is done through random draws, a system that has attracted heavy criticism from some drivers.

Kyle Busch will be on pole position for Sunday’s Quaker State 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway. This is his first of the 2020 season.

For the ninth time in 13 races, since the NASCAR Cup Series came back to activity following the 10-week rest due to the coronavirus pandemic, a random draw is in place to set the lineup for a race.

For the first time, it was Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch who drew the pole position. He will lead the field in his #18 Toyota in Sunday’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, the 17th of 36 races.

Joey Logano will be on the front row with Kyle Busch, whereas Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola will be on the 2nd row. Chase Elliott will start in the 8th position at the Kentucky Speedway.
