As a defending champion, it is fairly strange to see that Kyle Busch has yet to win a race this season. It isn’t for the lack of trying though, as he finished 2nd at least three times this year.

The driver has been fortunate that he is in the playoffs. Now, he can try and snatch at least one win before he can get eliminated. Kyle Busch has had a good track record at Richmond, winning at least 6 times at the track.

Busch has another good chance to bag a win, as he is set to start the race from 6th on the grid. However, he will not have things easy, because pole man Kevin Harvick has been on a roll.

Who will Kyle Busch have to fend off to win at Richmond?

Martin Truex Jr will be another danger man at the Richmond International Speedway, since he also has a good record there. The 40-year old has won the last two races at the Virginia track and has been in excellent form.

Admittedly, his 22nd place at Darlington was a hiccup, though it was not his fault. Barring that, Truex Jr has been in the Top 5 in eight consecutive races. Even though he is starting down in 14th, he cannot be ruled out.

Kyle Busch will also have to focus on the likes of Harvick, Joey Logano, Austin Dillon and Alex Bowman. Even drivers like William Byron and Denny Hamlin can be a massive threat. However, ‘Rowdy’ will be keen to fight with everything he has in his book.

One thing is for sure, Busch will also have to do everything in his power to stay away from the bottom 4. Otherwise, he will be eliminated from the playoffs and lose any chance of getting that elusive 2020 win. Without a doubt, Kyle Busch is an excellent driver, but the competition is fierce and he will have to use every trick to stay ahead.
