The good news keeps coming for the newest star on the NASCAR block, 19-year-old Hailie Deegan. On Saturday night, Deegan made her NASCAR Truck Series debut, and she was quite successful at that. Shortly after her first-ever NASCAR start, her team announced Deegan as a full-time Truck Series driver for 2021.
In the Truck race at Kansas Speedway, Deegan created history by recording the highest finish by a female driver in her Truck debut, with a 16th place outing. A shot at running an entire season next year means Deegan has a genuine shot at creating a bigger piece of history.
On the announcement, Deegan expressed her excitement at running the full Truck season in 2021. Ford and DGR-Crosley both invited Deegan on board. She finished third in the ARCA Menards Series this year, winning ‘Rookie of the Year’.

Hailie Deegan speaks on the exciting development
“I am excited for this next step in my career with Ford Performance. I have raced trucks in the off-road world. But to now have the opportunity to race trucks next season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is a dream come true,” Deegan said.
The youngster is excited to drive the iconic Daytona 500 in 2021. “I can’t wait for Daytona 2021 to get here.”
Deegan also gave an update on the sponsorship scenario for her team next year.
“I have some great partners already behind me for next season. We have a few primaries still available and I hope that we can fill these up in the coming weeks,” Deegan said further.
DGR-Crosley’s co-owner praised Deegan for her quick rise in the sport. “I’m happy DGR-Crosley can be part of her learning process as she transitions to the next level of competition. And we’re all excited to start prepping for next season with her,” said David Gilliland.
Thoughts on maiden Truck start
After her Truck race on Saturday, Deegan spoke about her experience. “Its crazy, compared to ARCA racing, how intense this racing is, how competitive it is. You’re trying to block one guy but pass the other. Next thing you know, you got two guys blowing by you if don’t make a successful pass,” she said.
Deegan is considered by many as one of the future stars on the NASCAR circuit. A first full Truck season is a big step in the forward direction for Deegan.
