Remember the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series finale? The fiasco between Carson Hocevar and Corey Heim drew criticism from almost everyone in the racing community. The sour taste from that race is yet to fade away as CARS Tour driver Landon Huffman recently referred to that race to react to an incident during the 16th edition of Battle at the Barn. The incident drew criticism from a lot of fans who expressed their concern over how youngsters were racing these days as it could spell disaster for the future of racing.

The issue of a lack of driver etiquette is one that reared its head on more than one occasion in NASCAR last year. Tony Stewart recently spoke about the issue as well on an episode of Hot Rod Pod. Other people in the industry have also raised concerns with the style of racing that has been on display at some of NASCAR’s lower levels. Even fans were not impressed with how things were turning out.

With the coming of a new year, people expect to see some changes both in their lives and in the things that they love. However, it seems that not much has changed from last season when it comes to racing clean. In the JR 1 Heavy A Feature 1, Kayden Birkholz (#1 car) and Jaxson Reeves (#5 car) were the culprits of a nasty accident. FloRacing posted a video on Twitter that showed the #1 intentionally banging into the #5 on the last lap of the race, causing a disqualification of the former.

That was the video shared by Landon Huffman on Twitter, mocking the driver of the #1 and suggesting that they must have taken inspiration from the controversial NASCAR Truck Series finale. “This kid 100% watched the truck series finale,” the CARS Tour driver wrote on Twitter.

Fans in the comments section agreed with the racer’s thoughts. However, there was one thing he might have missed.

If one takes a look at the last couple of laps of the event, one would find that the driver of the #5, Reeves, had purposely bumped into Birkholz’s car on multiple occasions to keep his track position. This sent the driver of the #1 over the edge and he decided to exact revenge.

Fans on Twitter mostly shared a similar opinion to Landon Huffman. In the comments section of the original video posted by FloRacing, most people called for the driver of the #1 to be parked. It is not a good look for a driver who has only just begun their journey in motorsports.

One fan made almost the same analogy as Landon Huffman as they commented, “Who let Carson Hocevar enter this?” Others were more concerned with the driver of the #5’s well-being. Another user commented, “Did anybody check the kid who got plopped? His / her head took a shot twice when you slow-mo that…. Good heavens.”

Several users called for the youngster to be parked for a little while from all motorsports competitions. Blame even fell on his team although that might have been a little unwarranted. “This is ridiculous man. That kid needs to be parked,” one user commented. “That’s a JR race. Ridiculous. Throw that driver and team out for a while,” quipped another. Some users saw the hilarious side of things but they too weren’t happy with how things turned out in the race.
