What does “Let’s go racing today boys!” sound like? An adrenaline-packed race on the ovals of America, right? Well, that’s certainly not the case here. Even though it’s an action-packed race, it’s not on the ovals, or any real-life racetrack for that matter. It is Carson Hocevar, who, ahead of his full-time stint in the NASCAR Cup Series, is flaunting his stop-motion racing skills at a miniature race track!

The Spire Motorsports driver was showcasing a hilarious and enthralling depiction of stop-motion racing when his mentor took center stage with his win on the final lap. The depiction took no time to win the heart of the community as it brought back a notorious memory.

Hocevar and Ross Chastain were former Truck Series teammates. But Chastain soon ventured into full-time stock car racing, and Hocevar remained in the Truck Series. However, Carson’s Cup Series fate took an unexpected turn when Chase Elliott wrecked Denny Hamlin and received a suspension, following which Corey LaJoie from Spire Motorsports had to fill in for Elliott. This turnaround of events paved the way for Hocevar’s first Cup Series stint at the World Wide Technology Raceway, Illinois. And what followed soon after was a full-time call to the division.

However, before his much anticipated full-time Cup debut next year, the #77 Chevrolet driver has found an interesting way to beat his off-season blues. The prodigy shared a video on YouTube, showcasing an enthralling stop-motion race. But what’s more exciting is the real-time commentary throughout the race, giving it an on-track feel.

As seen in the entertaining video, Hocevar swooped from the back of the pack and dominated the stop-motion race. He was on the verge of clinching the title, but then the unexpected happened; Ross Chastain, in his #1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet, made his famous “Hail Melon” move and snatched the title.

Not only did Chastain win the race, but he also left the commentators in a state of disbelief as they couldn’t comprehend what just happened. The words that wrapped up Ross Chastain’s move aptly were, “I’ve never seen anything like that before!

Hocevar’s tribute to his mentor was surely a fun and adventurous one. But as his first full-time stint at the Cup Series division is merely months away, let’s see what Hocevar’s 2024 season looks like.

Despite being new to the Cup Series scene, Hocevar brimmed with confidence as he told NBC Sports, “That’s what you dream about when you’re young. You want to race on Sundays. So, my opportunity to run a few times this year, to run on Sunday and get ready, I feel more than prepared to get in the No. 77 car with Spire.”

On top of that, Hocevar bagged a deal with Spire Motorsports‘ previous sponsor, Zeigler Auto Group, for eight races, starting their run at the highly-coveted 2024 Daytona 500. Unveiling his excitement about the new sponsor, Hocevar said, “It’s pretty exciting to be able to partner with Zeigler Auto Group and be able to show some hometown pride in 2024,” during the team’s press release.
