“Chad Knaus Said They Modified It” – NASCAR Insider Exposes Hendrick Motorsports’ Double Standards During a Comparison With His Own Team
The NASCAR community seems to eye one thing these days, and that’s Kaulig Racing‘s appeal against the organization for shaving off race points and slamming hefty penalties to the team. While Hendrick Motorsports have successfully appealed against the league and have reinstated the points, fans seem skeptical about Kaulig’s appeal.
Being one of the most winningest and influential teams in NASCAR, Hendrick Motorsports may have an advantage here, but the community is closely monitoring the same for Kaulig Racing.
While the Hendrick teams were caught for illegal louver modification, that too across 4 teams, Kaulig Racing also received penalties for the same but just on one of its teams.

And this here was a major talking point on the Door Bumper Clear podcast. In the recent episode, Brett Griffin, NASCAR Insider and spotter for Kaulig Racing, reveals his take on the matter.
Joining the Kaulig spotter are NASCAR driver Chandler Smith, Freddie Kraft, TJ Majors, and co-host of the show Casey Boat.
Brett Griffin brings up the sketchy part about NASCAR amid all these appeals
Brett Griffin, who is also the spotter for Kaulig Racing, came down harsh on the recent happenings in NASCAR. The guy seemed furious with the sanctioning body’s decision and the whole thing about the appeals. The Kaulig Racing spotter said, “If we are going to lose this appeal, I’m going to lose my mind.”
Earlier in the episode, a frustrated Brett spits some facts about Kaulig Racing and how “unintentional” the whole fiasco really is. He also states that it’s impossible for his team to modify the louvers in the garage and they do not have the right equipment for the same.
Subsequently, his co-hosts Freddie and TJ quickly pointed to the elephant in the room, i.e. 4 of Hendrick’s teams getting caught for illegal modification of parts. This led Brett to say, “Chad Knaus said they modified em cos the hood wouldn’t close. They admitted to modifying the things.”
Now, with such revelations coming out and the appeals panel reinstating the lost points, things definitely should be monitored closely.
Based on this serious revelation, the Kaulig Racing team member also threw a jab at the panel, saying, “Here’s what I learned the appeals committee doesn’t have Twitter,” while the group joined in on the roast.
And things don’t look promising when one successful team has yet again gotten away with the fine and the other still coping with things and waiting for their appeal.

During the conversation, TJ Majors came up with an interesting take on the matter, “if you were cheating like if you were cheating all 4 of Kaulig’s louvers would have been cheated.” Whereas just one louver was confiscated by the authorities. Brett also pointed out the technical expertise of his team. Even if they wanted to modify the parts, there was no way to do that in their garage without the proper equipment.
While Hendrick’s team is one of the most influential and prominent names in the sport, the other team is young and still trying to get a foothold in the sport.
