So, Chase Elliott didn’t win the 2022 Cup Series title. But that doesn’t mean that his achievements are humble. Making it to the top 4 is an achievement in itself. And when someone achieves it for the seventh time, it definitely displays their exceptional skills as a driver.

In a post-race interview, Chase Elliott talked about his race at the Phoenix Raceway. Moreover, he said that he hopes to come back stronger in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. However, apart from that Elliott revealed that he was surprised to notice something about the 2022 season.
While talking about making it to the top 4, Elliott said; “It’s kind of hard to believe I’m the youngest.” Furthermore, he continued; “It’s crazy to think that this is my seventh year in (the NASCAR) Cup (Series.)”
But he also admitted that age is just a number. He said; “But being the youngest, I mean, I don’t think it really matters, to be honest with you. Regardless of one’s age, you can still have a lot of experience and the necessary experience that you need to go and be successful. And I think all the candidates have plenty of experience in racing in general.”
However, Elliott did reveal that even after making it to the top 4 for the seventh time, nothing felt the same. And this was mainly because of the new charters that entered the sport in 2022.

During his interview, Chase Elliott shared that it has been different driving the new cars. He said; “This year has been such a reset for our sport with this car.”

Furthermore, he admitted that each year has been a unique journey. He said; “I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of the Final Four for two years prior to this, but the road to getting there has been super different every year.”

Apart from this, Elliott also shared his views on the Phoenix Raceway wreck that took away his chances of clinching the trophy.
