Chase Elliott Is All Pumped Up After Recent Atlanta Motor Speedway Announcement

After a thrilling first couple of races in 2022, NASCAR is making sure the thrill, the spectacle, carries on throughout the rest of the season. This is all the more apparent by the announcement of a country music icon taking part in a coming race, someone for which driver Chase Elliott is pumped up.

Brantley Gilbert, the artist behind albums like ‘Halfway to Heaven’ and ‘The Devil Don’t Sleep’, will give the command to start engines at Atlanta Motor Speedway later this month.

This made Hendrick driver Chase Elliott pretty excited. Elliott, who is also a Georgia native like Gilbert, tweeted in reaction to the news of Gilbert being part of the race in their home state.

“Somebody better call the LAW. Jeffco representation,” he tweeted.

Chase Elliott might want to clear up the air about his spin in Fontana

During the race in Fontana, after late-race contact with teammate Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott spun under ‘mysterious circumstances.’ This is because many believed he took out his frustration by spinning, so as to bring out a caution and jeopardize Larson’s charge to win.

However, after the race, Hendrick General Manager, Jeff Andrews, ruled out such theories. “I don’t believe he was taking out any frustration,” Andrews said.

“He came on there pretty quickly after the contact with the wall, and it was a very similar issue that had happened to them early in the day with the bent toe link, and that puts a bunch of toe out in that right rear tire and rear assembly and that makes it very difficult to drive.”

On the other hand, Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, believed otherwise. On a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Kraft explained why he thinks the No.9 spun without any external reason.

“I think the gloves tell the story. You watch the video, his hand (is) at 12’o clock jacked off the corner,” he said.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that it was intentional just based off those comments where he says, he puts in there, ‘I don’t give a s**t who is leading.’”
