The Hendrick Motorsports star recently tire tested at the COTA track

Elliott recently graced the famed Circuit of The Americas (COTA) racetrack as part of a Goodyear tire testing session. With his road course skills, there is probably a reason why NASCAR and their official tire supplier wanted him to help them with key feedback pointers.

Meanwhile, the No.9 has begun his title defense season in somewhat decent fashion. After a stunning 2nd-place at Daytona 500, Elliott looked good for another Top-5 finish at the Daytona Road course. Ultimately, though, he could only muster up a 21st place finish.

He now sits 5th in the drivers’ standings after another sub-par performance at Homestead-Miami. Hence, the idea for him would be to go ahead and create a run that gives him some confidence.

The forthcoming races thus offer a great chance for Elliott to string together a set of good results in his favor. His fans would also hope for more successes, starting with this weekend’s race at Las Vegas.
