Earlier this month, Chase Elliott made his Midget car debut in North Carolina. For a maiden run, it was fairly impressive, since he managed to finish on the podium behind Chase Briscoe and Kyle Larson.

In the second event, he managed to bag a fourth-place finish, which was still a decent effort. More importantly, he had plenty of fun during the race.

Elliott said, I appreciate everybody’s help, DiaEdge, Chase [Briscoe], Paul, and all the people who made this work.  I’m looking forward to the Chili Bowl and trying to learn much.”

“I think the biggest thing for me was understanding the racing aspect.  If you are better than the guy in front of you, how do you set up a nice pass and not run over him?” he added.

This race will prepare Chase Elliott for a major midget car event

Of course, this is not a one-off appearance for Elliott, as he is training for more races. His next Midget appearance will be at the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals at Tulsa in January.

Although he finished 3rd and 4th, Chase Elliott refused to be complacent. This is because he knows that the Tulsa race will have even stiffer competition.

Elliott confessed that he lost by a massive margin. However, things will only get harder from there, and there will be drivers who are just as strong as Kyle Larson and Chase Briscoe.

It is worth noting that Elliott participated at the Carolina Midget Showdown just a few days after the Snowball Derby at the Five Flags Speedway. He made a strong comeback from a bad qualifying effort at the Derby to win the Last Chance Qualifier, before finishing third in the main race.

Elliott will hope that the Millbridge event helps him greatly at the Chili Bowl Nationals.
