While most of the reaction and discourse surrounding Brad Keselowski’s massive L2 penalty has been either sympathetic or that he deserved the punishment for violating the rules, Chase Elliott has a different suggestion. The Hendrick driver spoke about what he thinks of the whole Keselowski penalty situation.
“I think it might be good for them,” Elliott said. “They don’t have to release it to the public, but I think it would be good for NASCAR to say, ‘Hey you know, like this is what they did.'”
“I understand that nothing is okay but if there was any gray area there, if they weren’t fixing damage or you know if there was something that was not intentional, I think it would be good to just learn more about the situation.”

Chase Elliott has a shot to redeem himself this weekend, but does he need to?
So far this season, three different Hendrick drivers have won three of the five total races, all Hendrick drivers except of Chase Elliott.
The Dawsonville native has failed to take the checkered flag yet this season. But all of this could change this Sunday as NASCAR heads to the first road course of the season at Circuit Of The Americas.
This is a circuit on which Elliott won a washed-down race last year as well. And to his advantage, he is the most successful road course circuit driver on the grid today.

Yet all of that is true except for the ‘need’ part.
Because Chase Elliott is having a pretty good season. He has a seven-point lead over Joey Logano in second place in the standings, he has three finishes in the top ten this season.

And if you know his capabilities and talent, the first win can come as early as this weekend for NASCAR’s most popular driver.
