Chase Elliott’s Radical Proposal to Counter Tom Brady & Co. Shot Down by NASCAR Insiders

It’s just a fact of life that no matter what you do, there will always be problems, turbulence, and unavoidable clashes. Or could some of these things be avoided? Well, in NASCAR’s case, and particularly in the case of their scheduling conflict with the NFL, Chase Elliott had recently pointed towards a fix.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver had advised NASCAR to not go up against NFL because that’d be a battle they’ll never ever win.

This was also one of the subjects on the recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast as the three spotters threw in their opinions on NASCAR racing alongside the NFL.

“We were talking about this the other day, like why are we racing heads up with week 1 of NFL football?” Freddie Kraft said to which Casey Boat mentioned Elliott’s comments.

“That would be difficult,” Kraft claimed as TJ Majors also chimed in to further the point, “I think that’s a lot.”

“It could be earlier for sure,” Kraft added.

This led to Brett Griffin suggesting that they don’t necessarily have to go head-to-head with the football league every week, prompting TJ Majors to ask, “What’s on Wednesday?”

“I’mma tell you what’s on Wednesday,” Griffin responded, “F*****g ratings!”

Chase Elliott feels NASCAR should be smart about the unwinnable battle with NFL

Around the optimism that the Next Gen era has instilled in NASCAR, Chase Elliott for one is remaining realistic. The #9 driver recently pointed out, after the release of the next season’s schedule, that the sport needs to make smarter moves.

“I don’t see any reason in competing against NFL football when that starts. In my opinion, that’s not a battle we’re ever going to win. I think we should be smart about that,” he emphasized.

Elliott claimed he has no problems in taking part in 36, 45, or even 50 races a season. And neither is he too bothered by races that take place in the intense summer heat and high-temperature environments.

Having said that, the 2020 Cup champion feels the same cannot be true for a fan, as he suggested that NASCAR needs more night races.

“I just think you see a lot of short tracks in places that run Saturday night shows and I think during the summer months, it’s something we should consider doing more of,” he added.
