During the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Texas Motor Speedway, Clint Bowyer encountered major issues. As it turned out, his #14 car collided with another car and damaged the front grill of his own car. The damage was so bad that the team had to cut the grill off the car.

He even spoke about how the team had to use a leaf blower on the car because it was overheating. He confirmed that the temperature felt like it was 320°F.

Bowyer confessed that if the car overheats, it was almost impossible for the gauge to read 320. He continued, “He was cutting that grill and running that leaf blower in the duct. When I hit, smashed all the duct work it wasn’t getting any air in the radiator.”

How was the rest of the race for Clint Bowyer?

When the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 came to an end, Bowyer somehow managed to wrangle his ailing car to 11th place. The 41-year-old is also contemplating his future in the world of NASCAR.

He expressed his desire to return to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2021 and finish his NASCAR Cup Series career with them.

Bowyer confessed that the negotiations are not underway yet, however, he has been in contact with some people regarding the same.

The American insisted that he needs to indulge in some serious self-improvement and extract the best out of the car.

He gushed, “Stewart-Haas is a wonderful organization. I want to be there, I want to retire there, and I love the opportunity, the people behind it. I believe in all the pieces of the puzzle are there.

“The manufacturer in Ford, I mean we’re sitting here representing Ford today, and you couldn’t ask for a better manufacturer that’s invested in this sport the way they are. Again, it’s a perfect fit for me.”

According to the 41-year-old, the June 22 race at Talladega marked a turning point in his season. Since then, his performances have greatly improved, and he is eager to claw his way up the order.
