Earlier, news broke that Tony Stewart would be joining as an analyst on Fox. Admittedly, this is not a permanent fixture, as he is appearing for The Clash at the LA Coliseum. In addition to that, he will also be in the booth once again for the Daytona 500. Suffice to say, his new co-commentator, Clint Bowyer, was quite thrilled.

He tweeted that he was ‘looking forward’ to reuniting with ‘Smoke’. Especially since the two of them used to race for the same team, Stewart-Haas Racing. Unfortunately, they were never teammates. Interestingly, Bowyer took over the #14 seat when Stewart retired from racing.

In other words, this will be the first time that the two of them will be ‘teammates’. Funnily enough, Tony Stewart fired a ‘friendly’ warning to fellow commentator Mike Joy. The NASCAR Hall of Famer found it hilarious that Joy would be potentially babysitting the two drivers. This is mostly due to their antics and the banter that they share.

What has Clint Bowyer been up to?

When the 2020 Cup Series season ended, Bowyer bowed out of the sport and took up another office. To be precise, he made his commentary debut in the Fox Sports booth, with Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon.

Now, Clint Bowyer will be relieved that he is no longer the new guy in the commentary booth. With Jeff Gordon leaving to take on a full-time role at Hendrick Motorsports, Tony Stewart has jumped in. Obviously, this will be a bit of a learning curve for Tony Stewart.

However, Bowyer will hopefully be there to show him the ropes and together, they can liven up the commentary booth. Without a doubt, they and everyone else are looking forward to the first race of the season at the LA Coliseum. After that is the Daytona 500; Stewart will be there for both of these. Beyond that, we will have to wait and see.
