He said, “Oh man, straight chaos. Start to finish, I had two pass-throughs. I had two pass-throughs, I got spun out one time. I had way too many mistakes, but the end result fourth shows how fast our truck was with the mistakes that I made. It’s really frustrating that I couldn’t have a better run. Honestly, I’m sure I’ll have more races in this truck, and I already have two more guaranteed at the end of the year. Still a lot of time, and I still have a lot to learn, but it feels good to have speed and feel like I belong here.”
The reporter then asked what Ross Chastain said to him when they climbed out of their cars. Zilisch stated, “He just told me to keep your head up. He let me by on that last restart and kind of made it easy on me to get by. He’s a really good guy, and he’s helped me a lot. getting to this point, and I’m sure he’ll continue to be a good teammate for me, but it’s really cool to have him on my side and have him supporting me.”

Connor Zilisch found himself sandwiched between two trucks. One on the inside and another on the outside. Unfortunately, he lost his reference points and unintentionally followed the braking pattern of the No. 17 truck. Both of them went too deep into the turn, resulting in Zilisch also going off track. Despite these rookie mistakes, he considers it a valuable learning experience and is determined to improve in the next race.
Apart from that, while battling in the middle of the pack, Zilisch encountered a spin, disrupting his rhythm and requiring quick recovery skills. Notably, he received two pass-through penalties during the race. The final one occurred just before a late-race caution caused by Lawless Alan stalling and parking on the track. Zilisch’s team made a strategic call to pit with only three laps remaining in regulation. This decision put him on fresh tires but added pressure to regain lost ground.
