Being part of something historic is always a source of pride for your near and dear ones. Daniel Suarez clinched the Atlanta trophy by defeating the defending champion Ryan Blaney at the finish line by an iconic 0.003-second margin. Right after, Trackhouse Racing switched into celebration mode. Not to mention, Suarez’s girlfriend, Julia Piquet, was also overjoyed.

However, every race has its own cracks and fissures. The experts in NASCAR would inevitably notice them, as Brett Griffin did in the Ambetter Health 400 race. But his take was not received well by Suarez’s better half. When Julia Piquet wrote some interesting words, Griffin wasted no time in packing a cutting comeback.

Brett Griffin is notoriously recognized as the bluntest of the trio. His unvarnished opinion has not been well received by a lot of people, including Suarez’s girlfriend recently. On a recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, Brett Griffin and his mates analyzed the Atlanta race. While admitting that it was the best plate race, they shared their doubts about the race being the best Next-Gen race. However, they did acknowledge the hard work clocked in by the drivers.

But Julia Piquet was not happy and lashed out against them for not giving her boyfriend enough credit. She tweeted: “Leave it up to these 🤡  to downplay not only Daniel’s win, but the talent it took from the drivers to race that last lap, and the car control that was required. “Daniel won the race just because of the circumstances behind him” “he was lucky”🤣🤣🤣  Gotta love the haters folks!”

Surprisingly, Brett Griffin came back with a revelation. “Guess it’s a good thing I declined to spot for Daniel in Daytona. Wouldn’t want you to be a part of the circus. 😂 It’s awesome when people hear and short clip and rage.”

Griffin, who has been working as a spotter, marketer, and driver manager for the past 20 years, has been involved in helping Clint Bowyer, Elliott Sadler, and Jeff Burton win races. So his gleeful decline to be the spotter for Daniel Suarez would come as a shocker, especially to Julia Piquet, who herself is no stranger to the motorsport world.

The meeting of Suarez and Piquet may have been long-etched in fate. Although Julia Piquet is herself a nutrition and health coach, she belongs to racing royalty. She is the daughter of 3-time Formula One world champion and racing icon Nelson Piquet. Also, her own brother-in-law is F1 champion and celebrity Max Verstappen.

During the off-season, Daniel Suarez was seen with the Piquet family reunion during Christmas 2023. There, he got a chance to mingle with Max Verstappen. Suarez also heaped praise on the Red Bull Racing driver: “He’s a great guy. He’s been very successful, and he’s very smart. Especially for his age, he’s extremely smart, very focused, and very calm. Which I’m not surprised. I mean, he’s been in Formula One already for seven years or so. And he shows that. He shows how mature, smart, and calm he is.”

While Atlanta was a great run for him, it looks like Daniel Suarez is not planning to rest and is hoping to bring home more trophies this year.
