Corey LaJoie Reveals What He Texted Bubba Wallace After the Race at Michigan

Spire Motorsports driver Corey LaJoie recently revealed what he told Bubba Wallace after their race at Michigan International Speedway. Bubba finished the race in an impressive second place. However, he seemed to be taking a lot of pressure after he reportedly blamed himself during the post-race interview for not winning the race.

During a recent episode of his Stacking Pennies podcast, LaJoie said, “I texted him (Wallace) after the race.”

“I said Bubba you were bad*ss all weekend, on the pole, good in practice, you ran second!”

“Like rewind two months ago you were popping champagne bottles.”

Wallace had a fantastic qualifying session that saw him land on pole. But in the race, he could only finish in second place. However, after the race, he seemed dejected that he could not garner a win and seemed to be taking way too much pressure on himself.

NASCAR legend Kyle Petty mentions why he thinks Wallace could not secure himself a win at Michigan.

He also has some advice to share for the 23XI Racing driver.

Petty said, “Bubba got beat because of experience.”

“He got beat because of his inexperience to be in a position to look at a win.”

“The more wins you get a chance to look at the more times you’re gonna bust through there and win and that is the whole point, that’s why Bubba shouldn’t be hard on himself.”

“He should look at that and say ‘I learned something’.”

Bubba Wallace needs to give himself a break from all this pressure and stop thinking about what a handful of people say about him.

He has got the pace and the determination to grasp a win. Everything will come to him in time. All he needs to do is race and not focus on distractions.
