Jimmie Johnson has one final opportunity to qualify for the 2020 NASCAR Playoffs. Just one race remains in the 2020 NASCAR regular-season.

Jimmie Johnson and his teammate have been in an enduring tussle for the last spot for quite some time now. Johnson is just 4 points behind his colleague who is in the sixteenth spot while Jimmie Johnson is in the seventeenth position.

The 7-time Cup Series Champion is currently in his final full-time NASCAR season. He announced his retirement plans in November 2019. He has been with the Hendrick Motorsports team since his debut and calls the team his home.

The 2020 NASCAR season suffered tremendously because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The season was postponed, NASCAR couldn’t plan Practice sessions or Qualifying sessions.

At par with this year’s season, Jimmie Johnson hasn’t had the best of times as far as his performances on the track are concerned. He has not won a single race since 2017, his winless streak has spanned over 119 outings.

In addition to the fact that Johnson has to complete in front of his nearest rivals, however, he should likewise trust no one beneath the current cutline wins the race to fill one of the spots into the playoffs.

Matt DiBenedetto, William Byron, and Johnson are in a three-way battle for the last spot in the playoffs as the NASCAR regular-season draws to a close.

Daytona is one of the most unusual tracks, considering how completing the race in one piece is often viewed as a miracle. Johnson’s Crew Chief is completely focused on winning both the stages and the race.

In an interview with Bob Pockrass, he says, “Right now, my goal is to win both stages and win the race. That takes care of everything.” 

Cliff has immense confidence in Jimmie Johnson and believes that he will drive fearlessly and will try to pass every guy ahead of him.

“But I promise you, we all know Jimmie Johnson. And he’s going to be scratching and clawing for every spot no matter what. And, if we’re second or if we’re 12th or 22nd, it doesn’t matter what it is. He’s going to be trying to pass the guy ahead of him.

“We’ve got to maximize everything that we can. And if he can get his bumper ahead, nose ahead, or set-up a pass on the guy in front of him, that’s our goal. That’s what we’re going to do,” said Cliff Daniels.

Every Jimmie Johnson fan wants him to win this Regular-Season finale. And secure that final berth to contend for the 8th Cup Series Championship.
