If there’s anything that holds a soft corner in Danica Patrick’s heart besides her family and racing, it’s her beloved dog, Ella. However, since February this year, Ella’s health issues left a crease of worry on Patrick’s forehead. A persistent limp in Ella’s stance sprung her owner into action, and she didn’t waste time in pursuing medical consultations and treatment. What was first diagnosed as an ACL tear turned out to be a ligament issue.

Danica Patrick’s gives a sigh of relief to the community

Somewhere around April this year, when Patrick took Ella to the doctor, she was diagnosed with a ligament problem, which prevented her leg from sliding back. Fast forward to today, 10 months have passed, and her dog is on the road to recovery.

Patrick’s revelation demonstrates positive signs and a hopeful and adventurous future for Ella. However, had Patrick not gone for a second opinion, Ella’s condition could’ve gotten worse.

Patrick’s instincts save Ella’s leg from worsening

Initially, Patrick took Ella for an X-ray, in April this year, following which doctors recommended a TPLO surgery. The surgery involved resetting of the leg’s angle but cutting the bottom leg in half. Sounds painful, right? Following the shocking news, Patrick was left disheartened and couldn’t stop crying when she came back home. However, before taking a call on whether or not to go for the painful surgery, the driver decided to get a second opinion.

Patrick felt that something was off about Ella’s X-ray report. So, she ended up consulting a close friend and, to her surprise and relief, it was determined that Ella didn’t need a surgery at all.

The revelation gave a great sense of comfort to the former NASCAR driver, and she didn’t forget to thank the doctors for saving Ella from the potential excruciating pain. Patrick publicly expressed her gratitude towards the doctors, in front of her 942K Instagram followers.
