Only a day after Dale Earnhardt Jr announced a sponsorship deal extension with one of his partners, another member of his family endorsed one of their biggest competitors. The man in question is Jeffrey Earnhardt, who is a part-time racer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Sam Hunt Racing. After his move on social media, fans decided to chime in and decide which company makes the better product, and that product is mayonnaise.

The 2-time Xfinity Series champion recently announced that JR Motorsports had extended its partnership with Hellmann’s until 2026. The company will also sponsor Junior when he runs the Xfinity Series race at Bristol in September.

Money can hinder any racer, even if their last name is Earnhardt

Duke’s and Hellmann’s are competing Mayonnaise brands. What’s interesting is that just a day after Dale Earnhardt Jr announced that the latter would be extending their contract until 2026, his nephew, Jeffrey Earnhardt uploaded a cooking video with the other brand. Maybe there’s nothing in it, but one fan speculated bad blood, saying, “Somebody’s salty about not driving for uncle Dale“. In reply, Jeffrey tweeted, “Na I like just where I’m at with @Team_SHR26 and @ToyotaRacing”.

When the fan expressed his disappointment that the team had not figured out how to get him in one of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s cars, Jeffrey had money to blame. “I really appreciate it. Unfortunately in our sport it takes a lot of money to make it happen. I definitely been blessed with the support and sponsors I have had and we are still working hard to add to it. Really appreciate all the support though,” he replied.

However, his social media post was a bit unusual given that Junior had only just announced the contract extension with Hellmann’s and it did not take long for the race fans to join in on the fun.

Fans vote against Dale Earnhardt Jr’s sponsorship partner

He might suggest that money was a factor in him not making it into the team, yet it would not be far-fetched to assume that there was at least a tiny bit of disappointment in the 34-year-old’s mind.

Another user, who sounded like a fan of Jeffrey Earnhardt, stated that he was switching from Hellmann’s to Duke’s. “I always did @Hellmanns for @DaleJr but now my household is switching to @DukesMayonnaise for @JEarnhardt1 LFG,” they quipped.

Some fans were quite pleased that he chose Duke’s over Hellmann’s simply because it was the better product. “Glad you emphasized the choice of mayo. Dukes mayo is the only way to go,” one user commented. Another fan thought along the same lines as they penned, “Finally a Earnhardt that knows his Mayo.”

One user believed that the uncle and nephew might have had an awkward conversation after the video was posted. “I bet there’s some interesting conversations about mayo with uncle Jr cause of the dukes,” they commented.

Do you think Jeffrey Earnhardt deliberately uploaded the video at the time he did due to some negative feelings or was it just a coincidence? Let us know what you think.
