Did Dale Earnhardt Jr once beat cancer? Yep, that’s what he confirmed, responding to a tweet by Kenny Wallace that spilled the beans about his old battle with Basal cell carcinoma right behind his ear. This type of skin cancer is pretty common, making up around 80% of non-melanoma skin cancers.

It’s not the kind to usually spread all over the place, but ignoring it isn’t a great idea since it can burrow into nearby areas, even messing with bones or other tissues under the skin. It looks like Wallace didn’t waste any time getting it checked out and letting his followers know he’s doing just fine.

Kenny Wallace recently let his followers know he had to deal with some skin cancer cells behind his ear. He hit up Twitter and posted a couple of snaps—one with his ear all bandaged up and another bandage-free, with captions about kicking Basal cell carcinoma to the curb. He was all, “I had to get some “Basil cell carcinoma” removed. I am all good 😁🕺💯.” Then followed up with, “The report came back. They got all of the “Basil cell carcinoma”. Gonna let it heal up on its own. They will bandage it up now. I am letting you all know this because most people are embarrassed. I am not embarrassed.😂😂”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. saw that and it sparked a memory of his own run-in with something similar. He cracked a joke about it possibly being from all that time spent eyeballing his car, trying to figure out how to make it zip faster. He shared, “I just had a small deal done in the same spot. Must be from all those hours of staring at my car at the track wondering how to make it go faster.”

It turns out, that wasn’t Dale Earnhardt Jr’s first rodeo with skin cancer. Flashback to 2019, during his daughter Isla’s first birthday bash, he dropped a series of pictures on Instagram. Eagle-eyed fans spotted what looked like a bandage on his neck in one of them. When someone poked him about it, he replied, “Had some skin cancer removed. Got a bunch of stitches.”

So, both Kenny Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr are doing alright now, which is definitely something to cheer about. And to add to the good vibes, Dale Earnhardt Jr has decided to make his way back to the racetrack for the CARS Tour at All-American Speedway.
