NASCAR is all set to return to North Wilkesboro for the All-Star Race in 2023. With the latest announcement, the revival of the iconic track is on the brink. Dale Earnhardt Jr shared his take on this and answered the most awaited question from NASCAR fans.

The year 2023 will see NASCAR celebrate its Diamond Anniversary. To announce the race, Earnhardt Jr was present there with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Marcus Smith, and other officials from Speedway Motorsports, North Wilkesboro Speedway at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh.
While addressing the media, the NASCAR fans and reporters asked the most awaited question from the former NASCAR driver. When asked if the NASCAR legend will be a part of the All-Star Race next year, Earnhardt Jr, stated, “Oh no no, I probably never run an all-star race.”
“But if they ever were to include a late model stock component to anything going on there in the future, it’s absolutely something I’d want to look into and be a part of. I had such a great time driving my late model stock car there,” concluded the Hall of Famer.
A glimpse of the North Wilkesboro Speedway
North Wilkesboro Speedway is a 1.006 kilometer or 0.625-mile oval track that opened 75 years ago in 1947. With the latest re-opening in August 2022, this is the third time the track has been reopened.

North Wilkesboro Speedway has also been featured in NASCAR-related video games, including the NASCAR Racing series, and NASCAR heat. It has also been featured on episodes of Top Gear by BBC and GeneRally.
“With the cars tour Wednesday that I would love to see the cars tour to North Wilkesboro, I talked to Marcus about that being a component for the all-star week, because it certainly needs to be a long celebration. We need people to, you know, come in, days ahead of time, camping, and enjoying“, further asserted the owner of Dirty Mo media on how fans can enjoy the revived North Wilkesboro racetrack when it returns next year.

The final NASCAR race was held here in 1996 and was won by 4-time Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon. As the wait is on for next year’s All-Star Race, it will be interesting to see how the race pans out.
