Then why does Dale Earnhardt Jr feel they are F.R.I.E.N.D.S?

While discussing the relationship between the drivers, Earnhardt Jr cited Hamlin’s latest remarks on Chastain. He shared, “Denny said we’ve had some conversations, and he (Ross Chastain) is warming up to me. We’re starting to feel like ‘Hey! We might become friends.”

Furthermore, Dale compared their relationship with one of the lead couples from the famous American sitcom show F.R.I.E.N.D.S. He said,

“So, this is like, in F.R.I.E.N.D.S, you know where Ross and [Rachel] keep breaking up and keep getting back…that’s Ross and Denny. They are gonna be pals and then they are gonna crash on the track and be fighting and then they’ll be pals again.”

This sent Earnhardt Jr and his co-host into a frenzy of laughter who agreed that Hamlin and Chastain share a similar hot and cold relationship.

Furthermore, Earnhardt Jr emphasized the fact that the sport needs such bonds. He explained that this is what creates a great entertaining show that adds a myriad of emotions to each race. He stated,

“So that’s the mark of a great entertaining show, that’s what NASCAR needs. NASCAR needs that sort of bromance and the brawling and the fighting and the feuds and the arguments and then the mending of the fences and then it all goes back to hell.”

Agreeing with the JR Motorsports owner’s statements, his co-host exclaimed that this is exactly what the viewers have been experiencing for the past week.
