The NASCAR Cup Series was very different from what we are used to seeing now. From the cars to the rules, and even some teams, everything has changed. However, there is one team that has remained in the Cup Series for a while now. And that is none other than Rick Hendrick’s team.
In light of this, the Hendrick Motorsports team thought it would be a great idea to show the current lineup of drivers how racing was back in 1986. The quartet was in for a treat! So much so that the former Hendrick Motorsports driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wanted in on all the fun.

The present-day Hendrick Motorsports drivers, Kyle Larson, William Byron, Alex Bowman, and Chase Elliott, were blown by how different the racing was back then. They said that the boss man, Rick Hendrick, sounds the same, despite looking much younger in the video. His sunglasses really impressed Kyle Larson, who said, “Man! He really needs to bring those shades back.”
While looking at the old cars go head to head, Larson also said, “Look at them sliding around, that looks so fun.” It seems like the #5 wants a taste of the racing in the 80s! In fact, even Alex Bowman added to that saying, “I feel like the cars used to roll around so much. Now the cars are so rigid and stiff.” Honestly, it would be fun to see the drivers pop in a stock car from 1986.

In fact, even Chase Elliott seems on board as he said, “I think we all need to race some of these cars and see who does good driving something like that.”
Since it looked so much fun, the former Hendrick Motorsports driver and possibly the most popular man in NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. invited the four to watch some more races.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of the first to join in on the fun and tweet at the drivers. He talked about how fun the video was. And he shot an invitation at the drivers to watch another historic race with the four-time Daytona 500 winner.

He’s certainly not wrong. It was a very fun video. Moreover, it would be a great idea to see Dale Jr. reacting to some old races with the Hendrick Motorsports crew!
Seeing this, some fans had a few race recommendations.
Perhaps y'all could watch an old race in accordance to a track they've won at this season. Imagine..
