Back in 2020, when the noose incident and the confederate flag news about Bubba Wallace were on everybody’s lips, Dale Earnhardt Jr decided to let the world know that Wallace had his support. However, that may not have gone well with a lot of people, and later on during an exclusive interview, Junior talked about the feedback that he received from his fan base.

Scott Van Pelt asked, “It helps when somebody with your kinda weight, puts their weight behind that message and you Tweeted out support for the cause and I’m just curious Dale, you’ve got some of the most passionate fans in sports. How did that play? What kind of feedback did you get, when you put your weight behind that message?”

Junior responded, “Depends on where you are looking, If you’re looking at Twitter you know every platform’s got a different vibe…” Pelt interjected and said, “That place is a toxic dump.”

Then Junior said, “Well it can be. So I’ll be honest with ya, I sometimes question even going to that space for anything other than just general conversation.”

“You know my heart is breaking for you know what these troubling times and what’s going on in our amazing country,” Junior concluded.

What had happened that year that led Junior to say this?

Back in 2020, ahead of the race at Talladega Super Speedway, a noose-shaped pull rope was found on Bubba Wallace’s garage door.
