Dale Earnhardt Jr. Once Revealed How His Mother “Smacked” Teresa Earnhardt in Front of Father Dale Sr: “They Had a Little Wrestling Match..”

The tales of the Earnhardts are one of the finest of the bunch in all of NASCAR history. Such is the history, the legacy, and the personalities that have come from Ralph, Dale, and Dale Earnhardt Jr, and it’s really tough to not think of them as the NASCAR family.

But even among the legendary stories between these three generations, there are some that stand out over the others.

And perhaps, Brenda Jackson, the mother of Dale Jr, having a fight with Teresa Earnhardt in front of the Intimidator and Martha Earnhardt, ranks at the very top.

This was something Junior touched upon when he brought on Martha Earnhardt on his podcast show, the Dale Jr. Download back in 2019.

The Hall of Famer stirred the pot as he said to ‘Mammaw’, “Mom and you were at your house, and y’all were on the front porch and dad drove up with Teresa, you remember that? They had a little battle royale, they had a little wrestling match on the front porch.”

“Cathy said somebody got smacked, who got smacked, Kathy?”

“Teresa got smacked,” Aunt Cathy replied, to which everyone burst into laughter.

“So they got inside the house, Mammaw snapped…” Junior added, trying to get more out of this story from the matriarch with even the co-host Mike Davis urging her, “Martha dig deep..”

“I really don’t remember all that,” she conceded. “Maybe I’m just trying to forget it.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the “version of events” he knows of the Brenda vs. Teresa fight

As Martha Earnhardt’s memory failed her on this particular incident, Dale Earnhardt Jr. decided to share the version of the story he knew from Aunt Cathy, with an ending on who actually won.

“Cathy’s version of events is that mom brought the kids to the house to do a switch with dad, and dad brought Teresa, thinking, ‘Hey man, that is no big deal,'” he said.

“Brenda wasn’t happy and there was a…physical altercation.”

Junior then asked, “Who won, Cathy?”

“Brenda,” came the reply.

“That’s what I figured,” Mammaw added, once again, leading to a big burst of laughter in the studio.
