Earlier this weekend at the F1 US Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo fulfilled a childhood dream. To be precise, he got a chance to drive Dale Earnhardt’s legendary 1984 Chevrolet at the Circuit of the Americas. Recently, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr spoke about Ricciardo’s demo run.

From there, a fan asked whether he would be tempted to give the Australian an Xfinity drive. Needless to say, Dale Jr thought that the notion would be fun. He acknowledged that he was really glad that Ricciardo got that chance when he did. He was also glad that the McLaren driver celebrated the greatness that was Dale Earnhardt Sr. According to Dale Jr, it made many of his family members and fans smile.

Admittedly, it would be incredible to see the Australian driver compete in NASCAR. If this idea does come to fruition, Dale Jr could let Ricciardo have a go in his JR Motorsports Xfinity car. Until then, all that it will be is just an idea to rope in a driver of Ricciardo’s caliber into the NASCAR arena.

For now, the driver is perfectly content with his McLaren F1 career. He has already notched up a win for the British outfit and is going from strength to strength. It also helps that he has a young and fast teammate in the form of Lando Norris to keep him on his toes.

Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt Jr is looking ahead to the remaining Xfinity Series races with his team. The JR Motorsports team is currently in the thick of a fierce championship battle. Justin Allgaier and Noah Gragson are both vying for a spot in the Championship 4. However, the likes of Austin Cindric, AJ Allmendinger, and many more, will be keen to make them sweat and work hard for the title.
