Despite his retirement, Dale Earnhardt Jr has remained incredibly close to both the NASCAR community as well as the NASCAR fans. And one of the biggest reasons for his ‘relevancy’ is his show, his podcast, Dale Jr. Download.

But in a recent interview, the former NASCAR driver admitted, just like NASCAR earlier this year, he also has ambitions to take his show beyond racecars and into football fields and beyond, something that “blows ‘The Download’ away.”

“In my mind, I want to create a show or a series of shows outside of motorsports. I would love to work with like a Greg Olsen on a podcast or a show about NFL football,” he said.

“I love the motorsports content, and we have so many cool ideas cooking at any given point, so that’s cool too. But I would love to have a business that operates with multiple components. That would be really cool to me.”

What makes Dale Earnhardt Jr’s show so unique?

Dale Jr. Download is a one of its kind show in which host Dale Earnhardt Jr and co-host Mike Davis invite guests from in and out of the motorsports. And it is unique because of its format.

The thing is, while many shows on podcasts shy away from taking the route of long and winding roads filled with emotional and sentimental conversations, Dale Jr’s show does precisely that. Instead of strictly sticking to the script, Dale Jr Download embraces the conversations wherever they go, as long as they’re honest.

This has made the show an environment in which guests feel safe, to be vulnerable, to admit things, to acknowledge, to face, to leave things behind.
