Dale Earnhardt Jr. has asked a favor from Trackhouse Racing star Ross Chastain for the 2025 NASCAR season. Now, this request popped out of nowhere and coincidentally just a day after JR Motorsports signed the Melon Man for select races in the Xfinity Series. Jr.’s request isn’t about the wins or milestones. Rather, he wants Chastain to roll out a cool throwback scheme with Busch Light for this season.
The series of sequences started when one fan on social media platform X shared a birthday post for former Busch Series driver Pete Silva. He was the first New England native driver to compete in the NASCAR Late Model Sportsman ranks. The big link that connects Silva with Ross Chastain was the primary sponsor on their race car and the car number.
Anheuser-Busch has been one of the key partners in the stock car racing scene. The Busch Light car and Kevin Harvick formed one of the iconic driver/sponsor partnerships in the modern era. And since Harvick’s retirement, the company has partnered with Chastain. Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn’t help but rave about the paint scheme Silva’s No. 1 car had and asked the Trackhouse Racing driver to have this as his throwback scheme.

“The next @RossChastain throwback please.” Dale Jr. replied to the post shared by the fans. Now, throwback schemes are featured at the Southern 500 race at Darlington Speedway every year. However, teams and drivers plan their ideas well in advance.

Now, it is hard to read between the lines here whether Dale Earnhardt Jr. is requesting or engineering a move himself to get this deal through. And seeing Jr. make this pitch on X, fans also joined him and discussed the possibility of this link-up.
NASCAR fans react to Dale Jr.’s suggestion for a Busch Light throwback scheme
Now it is no secret that Dale Jr. and Anheuser Busch share a special bond. Only recently, they reignited their partnership with the revival of the iconic Bud 8 Chevy car. It was Jr.’s first major sponsorship, and they stuck by him until 2007 when he left DEI to join Hendrick Motorsports. Although it looked like the veteran driver was merely planting seeds of a potential move, this fan believed Jr. could easily make this happen. “Come on, Dale, use your pull with @AnheuserBusch to make it happen.”

Could Dale Jr.'s influence bring back the iconic Busch Light scheme for Chastain in 2025?
Have an interesting take?
Chastain rolled out with a retro throwback scheme with Busch Beer at the Southern 500. The branding of Busch Beer on the door panel, along with the blue, white, and red color combination, made the No. 1 Chevy stand out. For some, this was the best throwback paint scheme of this year. So, there is a possibility that something grand could be in the making now that Dale Jr. has made a suggestion. “Dale has spoken.”
Back in the day, they didn’t have vinyl wraps and the glitz and glam of modern-day graphics. Silva’s No. 1 car had a rather minimalist view with the Busch Beer logo on the door panel and the number of the car painted in red. The hood of the race car was matte black, and the rest of the body was colored in white. Appreciating the idea of the scheme, this fan wrote, “cool idea but poor execution haha. I assume @TeamTrackhouse could pull it off.”
Given that the idea is pretty cool, most of the race fans rallied behind Dale Jr. and started tagging Trackhouse Racing and Anheuser-Busch. Soon they even started voting in favor of it, and this was evident from this fan’s reply. “Yes I vote yes.”

Busch Beer schemes have certainly been a hit among race fans. Had it not been for Kyle Larson’s Terry Labonte 1996 championship-winning paint scheme, Chastain would’ve won the prize at Darlington Speedway. If Busch Beer does get on board with Dale Jr.’s idea, there is a good chance that Chastain could win the Best in Class paint scheme award in 2025. “This could be a banger.”
