It’s pretty well known, the Kyle Busch-Joe Gibbs situation at this point. So the real question now is, where does the two-time Cup champion go?

Well, according to Dale Earnhardt Jr, the answer, albeit not one many are fancying or imagining right now, is Kaulig Racing. Could he go to Kaulig and do that? I’m not so sure. He’d run that car in the top ten, in the top five,” Earnhardt Jr. said.

He described how Matt Kaulig is pouring “a ton of money” into his Xfinity Series program, and as for the Cup level, he has the ability and the power there too.

But if he’s serious about signing the star veteran that is Kyle Busch, with wins, with championships, along with having the ability to groom the young guns, he needs to be following the Rick Hendrick method of signing drivers.

“If you see a guy, do as Rick Hendrick do. He goes and gets the stars, he grooms the young guys as well but he is known to be able to go out there and say, ‘That’s the best guy on the market and I’m getting him. He’s mine,'” he added.

“So if you’re Kaulig, you’ve got to be looking at Kyle Busch and calling him up, or answering the phone and getting the conversation saying, ‘What would it take?'”

Joe Gibbs can compromise with Kyle Busch for one year as he now has his replacement

Dale Earnhardt Jr. went on to describe what Joe Gibbs should do if he cannot find the ‘the’ sponsor for Kyle Busch while also having the option of Ty Gibbs as his replacement after his impressive Pocono run.

“If you’re Joe Gibbs, and if you’re struggling to get the sponsorship, you could probably bite the bullet for one year, and say, ‘Alright Kyle. I can’t get all the way there where you want me to, but I can get this close,'” the JR Motorsports owner said.

“And Kyle would probably agree to it.”

Dale Jr. felt that if Joe Gibbs is willingly and knowingly entering a situation where he can lose money, then why not hire his own grandson, Ty Gibbs?
