In the wake of the thrilling Road America 180, the NASCAR Xfinity Series gears up for the next action-packed event at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. The Cabo Wabo 250 promises to be an exhilarating affair, with 38 Xfinity drivers vying for victory on the two-mile-long D-shaped track over 125 laps. The stakes are high, as this 21st race of the 2023 season presents a 250-mile challenge to secure a spot in Victory Lane. With just six races remaining before the playoffs, the competition intensifies as four spots remain open for new winners.

Josh Berry speeds to the second pole of 2023 in electrifying Xfinity qualifying

In Friday’s exhilarating NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying, Josh Berry, driving for JR Motorsports, showcased his prowess by securing his second pole of the 2023 season. He blazed around the track, clocking an impressive lap time of 37.985 and at a staggering speed of 189.549 mph. This remarkable achievement marked Berry’s third pole in his Xfinity career, granting him the honor of leading the field to the green flag in the upcoming Saturday’s race.

The JR Motorsports front-row dominance was further solidified by Justin Allgaier, who will line up alongside Berry after recording a commendable lap speed of 188.289 mph. Notably, this was Berry’s second pole in the last three races, with his previous pole position earned at the Pocono Raceway just two weeks prior.

With JR Motorsports occupying three of the first four positions, including last week’s winner Sam Mayer starting in fourth, the team has truly asserted its dominance and set the stage for an electrifying and competitive showdown on race day.

In the fast-paced world of racing, Josh Berry has found himself in the spotlight for more than just his prowess on the track. It seems Berry’s no stranger to NASCAR’s success, having previously filled in for Chase Elliott and taken the wheel of the #9 car during the 2023 Richmond race, where he achieved a career-best finish as the runner-up. Stepping into the pinnacle of NASCAR and achieving such a staggering feat is nothing short of a victorious triumph.

Despite valiant efforts and battling hard in the closing restarts, Berry fell short of claiming the lead, missing the chance to become the first sub-driver to win since 2002’s Jamie McMurray.
