Dale Earnhardt Jr has officially been inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. This places him in elite company, one that also includes his late father, Dale Earnhardt Sr. Following the ceremony, as per custom, the driver’s signature was immortalized on a concrete marker.
The best part about this particular ceremony is that Dale Jr’s marker was placed right next to his father’s. To make matters even better, he was also right next to Richard Childress’ own concrete marker. Dale Sr was part of the inaugural HoF class in 2010, along with Bill France Sr and Jr, Junior Johnson, and Richard Petty.

Dale Earnhardt Jr will be incredibly honored
Obviously, Dale Jr was quite touched by this gesture and appreciated being clubbed with his father. In the buildup to the event, Dale Earnhardt Jr spoke about all the things that led to his induction. Among them were his 15 Most Popular Driver awards, his JR Motorsports team’s 2014 Xfinity Series Championship, and many more.

Now, he has stepped away from the racing scene on a full-time basis. Admittedly, he does have the occasional cameo with JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series. However, it is interesting to note that he recently stepped into the Hendrick Motorsports Next Gen car at Daytona. This is because Kyle Larson was a touch preoccupied with trying to defend his Chili Bowl Nationals crown. So, the team recruited Dale Jr to run in his stead.
