Ever since Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick took over the reins of the zMAX CARS Tour last year, the series has received a good boost and direction. However, it looks like now it is headed for an even bigger racing event than it has witnessed in a while at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.

The two-day event will see both the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model division races in the mid-week show on May 14 and 15. Reverend 100 will get the ball rolling for action at the 0.625-mile racetrack on Tuesday, May 14. The Late Model Stock Car division will follow up with its event, Window World 125, on Wednesday.

The race week will see drivers compete for a prize purse of $15,000. The Late Model Stock Car drivers will battle for the $10,000 winner’s prize. While the Pro Late Model field will compete for $5,000 in payouts, banking on the historic significance of the race track, the CARS Tour is expecting multiple entries for the big event.

Expect blockbuster racing action for the CARS Tour week at North Wilkesboro

Ever since Dale Earnhardt Jr breathed new life into the abandoned race track, the venue has hosted All-Star Cup Series races and also seen the CARS Tour make a return to the iconic venue. However, with the change in management and notable NASCAR dignitaries leading the charge for the series, this year’s event is expected to be a blockbuster.

Kip Childress, Executive Director of the CARS Tour, said in a press release. “The North Wilkesboro event is the crown jewel of the zMAX CARS Tour, and this year we are ramping it up in terms of entries and purse. During our open test, we wanted to let the competitors and fans know that this event continues to grow both in stature and importance. Both divisions are open entry, and we’re hoping that drivers and teams will come to see what we bring to the track.”

Wednesday’s Late Model Stock Car event will see drivers battle each other for the victory over 125 laps. The event will be streamed live on FloRacing. In total, the event will consist of 36 entries and will determine the field based on the timed laps. If more than 50 race cars are trying to make it into the race, there will be a last-chance qualifier. It has to be noted that there are two provisional starters based on owner points, and the championship provisional is also in play.

On the other hand, the Pro Late Models will be running an event of 100 laps on May 14, which will also stream live on FloRacing. The qualifying procedure for the race is the same as in the Late Model Stock Car division. Aspiring drivers and teams can make their entries via the Pit Play mobile app, and the deadline for making the entries is May 10.

Race fans will be able to enjoy the action on both days, as tickets for the events are also made available on the North Wilkesboro Speedway’s official website.
