Danica Patrick Fuels Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Tribute to NASCAR Legend, Who Once Lashed Out at Her Haters

Recently, Dale Earnhardt Jr. sent a text to Tony Eury Jr. after he appeared as a guest on his podcast. Danica Patrick reacted to Dale’s tweet which was about her former crew chief.
In his tweet, Dale said, “I sent Tony Jr a text thanking him as I usually do for some guests, and he replied “we have a lot to be proud of” and that was a very nice thing to hear from him. For once it wasn’t me trying to convince myself to be proud. It was someone who lived it with me.“

Tony Jr. has previously been highly supportive of Danica Patrick during her years of racing. Back when other drivers did not like losing to her, Tony said, “They hate that you’re running this good.” Adding, “I’ve heard comments made, Well, why is the 7 running so good? The girl is getting better and better.”

Tony Jr. used to be the crew chief for JR Motorsports back in the day when Danica Patrick raced in the team.

Fans soon started commenting on the post. Mostly in appreciation of the former JR Motorsports crew chief.
Both Eury’s used to work at JR motorsports, an Earnhardt family-owned business. Tony Eury Jr. was even a co-owner of that team. Back in 2012 when Tony Sr. was let go from the team, his son also walked out of the gates within a week.
Eury Jr. was not happy and surprised by the team’s decision to sack his father.
Always appreciated that when nobody gave a crap about @iRacing, Tony always had a smile and a welcoming handshake when he saw us. He helped so much in the early years. I hope he still has that print we made him hanging someplace because he should be proud of what he did with us!
