Since Danica Patrick retired from racing around 2017, she has been spending her time building a multi-million dollar empire. With her businesses, her podcast, and so much more, she’s been busier than ever. Fortunately, one of her businesses, Somnium Wine, involves a lot of traveling, and a lot of wine!
But this time it seems her liver had a little too much.

Patrick went to Napa, and Alaska on a trip for business related to Somnium Wine. But, her liver didn’t have the best time there, as the caption of her recent post said, “My liver broke up with me after the last week. 🤣 ….but, what a blast between Alaska and Napa!!!! 🐟 🍷”.

Well, a lot of wine is surely going to make anyone’s liver struggle, but it’s good to know that she had fun!
Seems like Patrick has had a smooth transition after her retirement. So let’s look at how it was going from being a racecar driver to being a businesswoman.
Danica Patrick On Her Shift From Racing To Business
Ever since her retirement, the former driver has been focusing on building her businesses. One of them is Somnium, her own brand of wine, and another one is Warrior by Danica Patrick, her athleisure clothing line.

In an exclusive interview with NBC, Patrick talked about the shift of going from a driver to an entrepreneur.

“I’m having to take more of a hands-on approach now,” she said.
She further when on to explain that by saying, “With racing, I drove the car, but I couldn’t set it up. None of that other stuff was part of me. I had people who planned all my schedules for everything, so there very few details that I had to worry about.”
“I just had to be sharp. I had to be present, and I had to deliver when the time came. So my switch was very on-off for the jobs that I had to do.”

Of course, a new career path required her to take a completely different approach. But she seems to have adapted to it really well.
