Former IndyCar and NASCAR driver, Danica Patrick and her podcast have seen some eminent guests appear throughout the years. This time clinical psychologist and personality Jordan Peterson came to one of her episodes, where Peterson stated, that men and women have different levels of sensitivity to negative emotions.

Peterson said, “Women become more sensitive to negative emotions than men when they hit puberty. Not before and it never goes away after that. Right, so it’s a permanent transformation. Patrick asks “Even after menopause?” Peterson responds, well yeah, men and women get more stable as they get older but the difference between men and women doesn’t seem to attenuate.”

He then added, “So now, Women became sexually vulnerable at puberty so that would be one reason why they became more sensitive to danger right? I mean there are plenty of places in the world where you wouldn’t walk alone.”

Danica Patrick talks about her crippling insecurity

Patrick opened up to Bear Grylls during the shooting of one of his Running Wild episodes and spoke about what was her greatest insecurity while walking into the world of motorsports as a woman.

Patrick stated, “I mean, everything from racing to listening to people says things about you to bad days on the racetrack and how to deal with them. You come back to the bus and I’d be like Oh, God. Why? 36? I’m so bad.” And you would just have these really flooding moments of self-doubt and insecurity.”

While having this conversation our good old Grylls was busy cooking her a gourmet scorpion to eat, something Patrick had accidentally discovered hiding under a rock. Sure it might not have been the tastiest cuisine she would have ever tried, but the interaction between the two sure did bring out some of the more interesting conversations.
