2013 for Danica Patrick will forever be one of her most memorable years. The Stewart Haas Racing driver made history by becoming the first woman to qualify for the pole position for the Great American Race, the Daytona 500.

But along with her on-track exploits, what the NASCAR community also remembers Patrick’s 2013 for is her infamous reaction during the NASCAR Award Ceremony.

What happened was comedian and host Jay Mohr, just as was expected and probably instructed to him, made a few jokes on almost every driver, team member, and even Mike Helton in the room.

And everyone, like a good sport, laughed along.

However, when Danica Patrick’s turn came, well, let’s just say she didn’t take the jokes well.

Now, it’s interesting because only a few days after from that night, Patrick was hosting American Country Awards along with country singer Trace Adkins. And it was during her hosting, she did something which didn’t necessarily correlate with her actions, or rather, reactions, from a few days earlier.

Danica Patrick made jokes on Trace Adkins days after not taking jokes on herself well

According to Sports Business Journal, Danica Patrick, while reading the teleprompter quite fast, was told by her fellow host, Adkins, to ease up on the speed, a pun on her racing background (haha).

“You don’t have to read everything as fast as you possibly can. I’m still having a little trouble adjusting to you,” the musician added, to which the racecar driver replied, “It’s alright Trace, I’ll slow down every once in a while and let you catch up.”

Later that evening, Adkins showed up on stage in his co-host’s GoDaddy racing suit while the person associated with his attire was wearing a cowboy hat.

“Since you’ve crossed over into my world of country music, I thought I’d cross over a little into yours,” Adkins said to which Patrick once replied, “So you’re a cross-dresser?”

You know what they say, don’t take a joke if you can’t make a joke.

Or wait, is it the other way around?
